It is fairly common in Romania for the Roma (Gypsies) to live in the woods and fields. But when I learned that a Roma woman, Mariana from ‘Ovi’s’ church ( Canaan), who had recently put her trust in Jesus was living in a field, it was inconceivable – unimaginable. It was more than I could bear to think of a family living in a cardboard shack in a climate that equals that of mid-northern Maine!
Pastor Ovi (Starlici) shared with me that the church wanted to help Mariana in some way. I immediately thought, count LFA in! I prayed about it, the Lord supplied funds, and we were able to be a big part in getting a ‘real’ home for Mariana, her alcoholic husband and two young boys (one of whom is learning-challenged). Mariana and her two boys have walked more than two miles, one way to always, faithfully be in church since her commitment to Christ.
The pictures show the family and their new home. THANK you, LFA supporters for being a part of this loving project!
