“Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.”    – Acts 4.13

Amazed:  astonished; extremely surprised.   I love that word.  I love it that ‘learned men’ who met up with ‘unlearned men’ (namely Peter and John) were astonished by them.  They could tell that there was something about them that made them different from others – and, that that unique difference had come from spending time with Jesus.  And I’m thinking it wasn’t just for an hour or two on Sunday mornings.  To be like Jesus, to look like Him, think like Him, act and re-act like Him, speak like Him,  and yes, ‘smell’ like Him (‘For we are the aroma of Christ to God’ – II Corinthians 2.15). It must be meeting daily with the Savior as the disciples did.  For us, that would look like  being in the Word, and daily listening for His voice – meditating on Him.

This Summer brings two pivotal and significant moments in my life so near and dear to my heart.  One landmark occasion is my age.  And more significantly it is the 25^th year celebration of Love From Above – God’s ministry in Romania!

At this very special time in my personal life – and the life of LFA, I could only ask for one thing.  ‘Please Jesus, let me be like You.  Let the ministry reflect its name, Love From Above – and so much so that when I meet others, they will know that I have been with You’ . . .
