July, 2019 – God Bless America and, God Bless Romania, Please
God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above
I love that I was born in America! I love the freedoms this country has afforded me from birth growing up in the State of Maine. I love that I have the God-given ability to help others rather than be sitting in the dirt with flies crawling over me (or worse) waiting for someone to come along and help me. I love America!
I have fallen in love with Romania. For the past nineteen years, I have referred to Romania as ‘the other land that I love’. In spite of its being the second most corrupt country in the world with chicanery in its most evil form being a mind-set at every level – in spite of Romania’s having the second highest alcoholism rate in the world – in spite of, after all these years, understanding the culture at only at its most basic level, and speaking the language like a two year-old – I love this beautiful Balkan State especially in the area to which God called me, Transylvania, in the majestic Carpathian Alps.
It’s during this month as we celebrate the 4th of July commemorating America’s freedom, that I pray ‘God, please bless America, land that I love’. And at the same time, I pray ‘God, please bless Romania, the other land that I love’.
‘And (if) My people who are called by My name humble themselves (no matter where they are) and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ – II Chronicles 7.14
