What a blessing it has been to be with our ‘kids’ – our precious orphans at Barza Mica. I love them like they are my own. They love our Bible stories – they love all the silly games we play – they love all the snacks I make (or just take) for them – and, most importantly, they love being LOVED!! This is the least I can do – for the ‘least of these’. Covid is an issue at both Albina and B. Mica as I write this, so it will be a while before we can be with them again.
I had a wonderful visit with the love of my life, Ioana – who worked with me for six years. Love From Above grew exponentially with her on the team. I have often said that if I had had a daughter, I wouldn’t have wanted her to be just like Ioana – I would have wanted her to BE Ioana! 😊 We had a wonderful evening eating al fresco with her parents – also, her handsome husband and their adorable little boy. Please pray for Ioana as she deals with MS! And don’t forget that she is now Doctor Ioana!
Also, I had lunch and great fellowship at McDonald’s Café with Robert and Alina – dear friends of all my twenty-four years here in the ‘other’ land that I love. I know some of you have prayed for Alina for years and years with her bouts with cancer. She never feels well or knows when she will have a good day. The thinking is that she was terribly overmedicated with the cancer treatments.
As you may have heard from the news, Eastern Romania on the Danube and its tributaries has been destroyed. I am praising God that a friend of Ovi’s has lent his 18-wheeler to be parked in the middle of the village of Halchiu where people can bring food and supplies to help – and then this fellow and Ovi will drive over to Galati to deliver the much needed goods. Love From Above was thrilled to send two huge boxes of brand new, or like-brand new baby’s clothes – and two large boxes of dolls and stuffed toys. I have also told Ovi to let me know if there is a slack in the giving in any area. LFA would like to ‘stand in the gap’. (Ezekiel 22.30) The village that we will be ministering to has had 900 homes destroyed. There are many, many more villages that are desperate for aid.
Still, we have not been able to hear from Vasile and Oleg on the northern border of Ukraine. I’m concerned!! Please pray for them! I did see that the young woman who was with them a year ago this past summer, posted on FB. I don’t know one word in the Ukrainian language, but I could tell that the post had to do with the care of children. She messaged a friend here in Brasov that the Russians had set her parent’s house on fire – and they were desperately trying to salvage their home.
My heart keeps crying out, “Even so, Lord Jesus, come!” But may He find us faithful and about the Father’s business until He deems that day!
