August, 2024
– My flights (Boston to Munich and Munich to Bucharesti) to RO on July 8 were, per usual – difficult. But I praise God for His bringing me back to my home here once again – to be His eyes and heart, hands and feet among ‘the least of these’ in Romania.
– I know the northeastern United States has been sweltering in the heat and humidity for weeks, and it has been the same in Romania! Due to having some abnormal heart activity, I knew that after an extended period of uncomfortable weather here in RO last summer, I would finally need an AC. I didn’t even know if it would be possible, but Ovi assured me it would. BLESS him! So as I arrived back in my little flat in Noua (the section of the city of Brasov where I live), it was with such a grateful heart that I was able to get a good night’s sleep – that I’ve had a place of reprieve in my 60 sq.ft. (or so) bedroom. God is SO good!!
– Difficult news! On July 21 on my way to Canaan (my church in Halchiu), I had a devastating accident, rear-ending another car – totaling both their car and mine. Even though the car in front of me jammed on their brakes, it was still my fault. I’m not going into detail here (if you want to know more about it, let me know and I can send you an Update from July 23), but, ultimately, I have nothing but praise and more PRAISE for my Creator, Savior and Sustainer that it wasn’t infinitely worse! The greatest damage I received was with my emotions – but my Wonderful Counselor is working there, too!
JOYful news!! I was able to spend time with our ‘kids’ on Monday, July 29 at -Barza Mica. Such JOY you can’t even imagine!!! My heart was bursting just seeing and being with them – and their hearts were about to burst out of their chests. SO many hugs and kisses and more hugs and kisses (repeat, repeat, repeat . . .) 😊 After not being able to see them even once while I was here last February through the end of April, it was a precious, precious Homecoming!!!
And more JOYful news!! I have been able to see our babies twice at Albina. My heart cried and laughed and sang and danced! Several of the little ones have been sent to other places, mostly back with relatives that never wanted them in the first place. I’m concerned!! But the ones we could minister to was such a time of precious-ness!! (Is that even a word??) When the director of Albina asked me about having the proper paperwork from the State to be able to visit the orphanage, I had to tell her that I didn’t have them – would not be given them. I was so grateful that she told me it would be okay anyway for me to be with the babies. That’s amazing. That’s from the Lord!
Prayer requests:
– Please pray that it will continue to go well with my getting into the orphanages – that the Lord’s protection will be over Corina and me.
– Please pray for another car for the ministry. So far, Robert Țompi, and Lorena (Ovi’s daughter) have been driving me to the orphanages. This is okay short-term, but I can’t wear them out – or feel as if I’m taking advantage of them. PLEASE pray!!
