November, 2021
I am writing this from my home in Norton, MA. I arrived back in the States on October 4 – almost in one piece. I did significant injury to my right knee while disembarking the plane in Frankfurt. It was the knee that I had been favoring since a high school injury. Being in a rush to get my overhead luggage, I banged the knee on a piece of metal on the seat in front of me. The day after arriving in the States, I was in the ER for five hours. I have had x-rays taken at two separate times, an ultrasound, an appointment with both my primary physician and orthopedic doctor. The end of October, I had an MRI – and will have another appointment with the orthopedic doctor in a week to discuss it. There has been a lot of pain (!), crutches and a cane, but always, my God is GOOD!!
As you can imagine, I miss our babies, ‘kids’, and friends more than ever. And to know that many of our ‘kids’ have covid (perhaps the Delta strain because they were all vaxxed), many of the workers, also, and the director is terribly sick. Please pray for these precious ones!
Also, covid in Romania, generally, is like a plague. Ovi spends much of his time, night and day, shuttling folks to the hospital. At any given time, there is at least, a back-up of people waiting for an ambulance – up to sixty of them. When at the hospital, as sick as they are, they have to wait up to five hours to be treated – and then, are just sent home. Most of the hospitals don’t even want to see covid-related patients anymore. Please – again – pray with me for our Great Physician’s healing hand on ‘the other land that I love’! Pray that the whole godless country will ‘humble themselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways; then God will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’ I see that as being the only solution.
Also, prices of everything have tripled in Romania just since I left less than a month ago. People are struggling for everything – gas, food, heat, meds to regain strength from covid even if they do make it. Again – PLEASE pray for these precious ‘helpless and hopeless ones’!
I am so sorry to be the bearer of so much bad news, but would you please pray for my dear, dear friend Dan Hurrelbrink. He fell off a roof this past week in Sebis, Romania onto his head – onto a cement walk. I am devastated!! I have known Dan for 20 years. He is a servant!
The good new is – YOU!! Thank you for your loving, and continued support to Love From Above. Just think of it – we are God’s eyes and heart, hands and feet doing HIS work! How amazing!! I stand amazed in His presence every day that He would choose to use one such as I (for anything!) – and then, that He would bring you along-side to minister with me!
