Update – May, 2026

Once again, a month (since I wrote April’s Update), has sped by like one week!  The following is just some of what Love From Above has encountered:

The government continues to move some of our ‘kids’ to orphanages far worse than even Barza Mica.  If it is in my power – or rather God’s power through me, I will not desert them.  That translates to doing a lot of traveling to be with them this Summer – but it will be well worth it!  A gentleman from the States had said that he was going to build two or three small case (houses) for our ‘kids’, but seems to have reneged on that.  It probably wouldn’t have made much of a difference anyway.  The government has transferred our most physically fit girls (in particular) to be ‘slave labor’ in the orphanages.  By doing that, they can get rid of the hired help – and pocket the lei (money) for themselves.  One day!  One day!!  God is going to ‘right all wrongs’!!

Of course, I continue to send them little ‘love notes’ (through the director).  And they keep wondering when ‘Mama Dawn’ is coming back . . .   Lord willing, I will return to the ‘other’ land that I love the first-ish of July.

A couple of days ago, I spoke with Ovi on the phone for at least a half hour with his telling me about the pastors’ mission to Ukraine last week.  He said that if it were ever possible for me to go to UA, I would never return (never want to return).  Even with his having family and church responsibilities, he said he could hardly leave the needy and the needs there.  People starving – homes, hospitals, orphanages being bombed – on and on and on.  When we think of drones, we think of those flying overhead taking pictures.  Not so in UA.  The Russian drones are anywhere from the size of a bicycle to the size of a car –  that’s not to mention the missiles that are being fired into Ukraine.  PLEASE PRAY!!
