October. 2018
Praising God that after 5 weeks of a serious sinus infection, natural meds that my beloved (now, Dr.) Ioana who worked with me for over six years, and all your prayers completely healed me. (I love it that the Lord gave us natural products of the earth to keep our health in tow.)
Attended my first non-Gypsy funeral in Romania. Dear Dan from our church, Canaan, in Halchiu passed away from cancer at only sixty-two years of age. He was a precious brother in Christ!
The director of Barza Mica put me in charge of the workers at the orphanage while she was away for over a week. NOT my favorite thing to do – but the Lord gave me the wisdom I needed I believe.
D-na Alina (director) surprised me with a beautiful flower arrangement in September – and with having the cooks make me sarmale – one of my favorite Romanian foods. Yum!
An older Severe-Profound fellow with whom we do not have interaction at Barza, was severely burned with nearly boiling water. Please pray that he heals well.
Praising God that LFA has been able to provide the prescription and OTC meds for both orphanages – that we have been able to provide all the veggies for the winter once again. Also, so very thankful for a German brother in Christ who provided three brand new baby cribs for Albina. I LOVE the ‘family of God’!
We have loved on, coddled, prayed over, sung to, and held our precious Severe-Profound ones at Codlea. What a blessing to bring just a little of Jesus’ love and joy to these precious ones. At Barza, we have played outdoor sports, had our Bible stories, done crafts, had movie and popcorn day, played ‘Pin the Tail on the Donkey’, did puzzles, and so much more, but none more important that loving them with the love of the Heavenly Father.
Have loved entertaining this month – Ioana and her husband Radu, and also Corina (my translator, friend and partner in ministry), her husband and daughters. Also, Ioana, her sister, Miruna, and their Mum, Moni and I had our annual Girl’s Night Out! This time at a Korean Restaurant right around the corner from me, and then back to my flat for chocolate-chip cookie squares and a fruit bowl. It was also my privilege to make a meal for Robert and Alina and their children. On Sunday, September 30, it was my privilege to have (Pastor) Ovi and his wife Carmen, and their daughter – and a couple from Oklahoma who are travelling in ministry for dinner. Also, lots of home-make goodies for our ‘kids’ at Barza. Yum! I also got to attend an organ concert at the Biscerica Neagra (Black Church) near the piatsa in Olde Brasov. Always exhilarating!
Please pray for me as I have to leave ‘the other land that I love’ on October 10. It almost seems unbearable to leave Romania – especially my babies and ‘kids’. Pray over them for comfort, peace – and safety.
